But we also know the waitlist isn’t so great for our families. An industry-wide problem is stopping children from accessing early intervention during the most crucial years of their development. We tell families not to “wait and see”… and then we place them on a waitlist. Ouch. So, what are we doing about it? We are hosting our first ever live parent webinar, because if there’s one thing even more stressful than waitlists… it’s big behaviours. Already accessing services? We are opening this up to all families (including current Milestones families) as the webinar empowers parents in understanding their child’s regulation regardless of what stage they are at in their therapy journey. So whether it’s the afterschool meltdown, the 0-to-100 reaction, the constant hyperactivity, the morning routine battles, or the voice in your head saying “it’s not that bad, this is part of being a parent”… NDIS funding: Parent webinars are not directly billed through the NDIS like therapy; however, it is up to your plan manager and/or NDIS whether it is covered through your consumable funding (if you have this in your plan).
